The 2018 GCC GC Forum, Dubai April 2018
We were delighted to work with our great friends at Addleshaw Goddard to facilitate their 2018 GCC GC Forum in Dubai this week.
Working as part of their award-winning Client Development Centre, it was a pleasure to spend a day exploring some of the leadership challenges faced by senior legal counsel working across the GCC. It was particularly interesting given many lead very culturally diverse teams.
The Forum was designed around providing…
- Fresh insight on the GC role, focusing on the cultural and value challenges.
- Leadership development, focusing on how to build even stronger relationships and leading culturally-diverse and effective teams.
- Ideas, insights, techniques and materials for delegates to take away and use with their own teams.
- Structured networking opportunities with peers facing similar challenges and experiences.
Delegates seemed to take a lot from the day, scoring it an average of 5.8 out of 6 for usefulness and 5.95 for facilitation, with supporting positive feedback including;- “This was an extremely valuable programme and one which has provided a number of insights and practical ideas that I can take away and share with my wider team.” and “Very enlightening and informative sessions.”
As Andrew Greaves, Head of the GCC Region for Addleshaw Goddard commented… “It was a pleasure to build on the success of our 2015 GC Forum and work again with Andrew Pawley at Aretai to deliver a day that helped our clients network and share insights around the many leadership challenges and opportunities they face. It was also very helpful for many of our Partners in attendance to get a more meaningful insight into the day-to-day challenges faced by those leading inhouse teams.”
