AG Partners’ Conference

We were delighted to work with our great friends at Addleshaw Goddard (AG) in helping design their first Partners’ Conference since their recent merger with Scottish Law Firm HBJ.

Held on 8 June 2017 in the beautiful setting of Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms, around 230 Partners were treated to a warm and amusing welcome to Scotland by Senior Partner, Scotland, Malcolm McPherson.  Managing Partner, John Joyce, Colin Brown (CFO) and Niki Lawson (HRD) then set an excellent strategic context, outlining clearly the priorities for the next few years which created lots of lunchtime discussions.

Senior Partner, Charles Penney welcomed everyone back after lunch before COO, Axel Koelsch delivered an insightful session around how the Partners will work together to deliver even greater value for AG’s clients in the market.  Andrew Pawley, from Aretai, then built on Axel’s session with some competitive, highly interactive activities specifically designed for the day and which explored the psychology of collaboration and the challenge of ‘tuning one’s radar’ to hear truly what clients need.

The event was then closed with a fun team building session, again on the theme of the power of collaboration, led by our old friend, Steve Barnett, The Silent Conductor.

As John Joyce kindly commented afterwards “Aretai are part of our extended family and so when we needed somebody to help us plan and execute key sessions at our Partner Conference to deliver on message, in a thoroughly and enjoyable and yet thought-provoking way, nobody could have delivered better results.  They did an awesome job.”
